When you use Ahlan's translation feature, the following ownership structure applies:
Your Original Content
You retain ownership of any text, images, or audio YOU create and input into Ahlan (copyright, trademark, patents remain yours).
Ahlan AI Translations
The machine-generated translations created by Ahlan's AI are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You do NOT own the translations.
Commercial Use
If you use Ahlan translations for business purposes, you must upgrade to our Business Plan or obtain separate licensing. Contact sales@ahlan.app.
2. Content License Grant
By using Ahlan, you grant us a limited license to:
Store your messages and translations for service delivery
Use anonymized data to improve translation AI (only with explicit opt-in)
Display messages to other call participants during the call
Archive conversations for GDPR compliance (30-day default, then deletion)
Comply with legal requests (law enforcement, courts)
3. Translation Accuracy Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: AI translations are NOT 100% accurate. Ahlan translations should NOT be used for legal documents, contracts, medical instructions, or other high-stakes communications without human review.
Accuracy varies by language pair, dialect, and context
Ahlan makes no guarantee of translation accuracy
Misinterpretations due to AI limitations are user's responsibility
Ahlan is not liable for damages caused by translation errors
4. Third-Party Content
If your conversations contain third-party copyrighted material:
You are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions
Ahlan is not liable for copyright infringement by users
Ahlan may remove infringing content upon legal notice (DMCA)
Repeat infringers may have their accounts suspended
5. Prohibited Content
You may NOT use Ahlan to share:
Child sexual abuse material (automatic reporting to NCMEC)
Copyrighted material without permission
Personal data of others without consent (doxxing, revenge porn)
Malware, hacking tools, or illegal instructions
Content promoting violence, terrorism, or illegal activity
Hate speech or harassment
6. Content Removal & Appeals
Ahlan may remove any content violating this policy
You have 30 days to appeal removal via ahlandev@ahlantranslationapp.com
